12:35:37 From Alice Ingerson to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : Intro the 2 other councilors, Lipoff and Grossman? 12:36:37 From Jane Santosuosso, Planning to Alice Ingerson(Privately) : Which of the Zoning Redesign goals feel most important to you? And why? (Remember, we’re planning for the next 50 years and beyond!) For context, here are the 3 goals that the Zoning & Planning Committee straw-voted in: (a) Housing: A zoning code more responsive to a demand for housing that serves a range of incomes and promotes sustainable community development patterns (b) Sustainability: Environmental stewardship, fiscal strength and meeting community needs (c) Context: Preserve and protect what we like in our neighborhoods. Encourage new development to fit in the context of our neighborhoods and villages 12:39:16 From Joel Shames to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : I think sustainability will drive diversity. so sustainability should be the first priority. 12:40:49 From Jane Santosuosso, Planning : Which of the Zoning Redesign goals feel most important to you? And why? (Remember, we’re planning for the next 50 years and beyond!) 12:41:47 From Alice Ingerson to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : Hi Jane, I can't see any Chat options but you and Vicki ("everyone" was there orig. but disappeared when I messaged you). So if I write anything, I'll have to send it through you. Sorry! 12:44:15 From Jane Santosuosso, Planning : What do you hope Zoning redesign accomplishes? 12:45:13 From Joel Shames to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : Preserving and protecting can run counter to sustainability and diversity, and inhibit necessary change. Given the changes happening in society at large, at a pace that undercuts continuity, “preserving and protecting” may serve as a brake on necessary change 12:49:36 From Emily Cagwin to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : Sorry! 12:54:29 From Emily Cagwin to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : Can you share what "FAR" stands for? 12:55:45 From Rick Lipof to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : As a City Councilor and Chair of land Use I am staying silent for now in an effort to hear input from our citizens. 12:55:47 From Jane Santosuosso, Planning : What concerns you most about Zoning Redesign? 12:56:39 From Joel Shames to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : Could a survey be prepared that demonstrates to people how little of the actual square footage is in regular use? 13:00:10 From Joel Shames to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : As part of the sustainability goal of new zoning, the city should be charging fees per cars per household so that those households with multiple cars pay more than those without cars or only one car. Maybe limit parking and garages to two cars, and/or charge more for a house having those amenities. 13:00:29 From Jane Santosuosso, Planning : How do you want to participate with Zoning Redesign in 2021? 13:12:30 From Alice Ingerson to Jane Santosuosso, Planning(Privately) : Forms of participation: Will just repeat a suggestion I made last night -- I'd love to have "pods" like this one, with people from different neighborhoods, continue talking with each other as new zoning topics are raised, gradually building on the understanding they gain of each other's views. This is actually more possible on Zoom than in person, and a good counterbalance to one-ward-at-a-time events.
