Dear Ted, Linda and colleagues on the Land Use Committee, Please share my comments with Alderman Merrill. I am sorry I was unable to make it to the public hearing last night. I had a last minute conflict. I have reviewed the paperwork that was distributed for the hearing and I truly appreciate the work and effort that BH Normandy has put in by trying to build a project that would both be profitable as well as acceptable to the neighborhood. However, there are many neighborhood concerns that are not in directly in their control without support from their landlord. I continue to be puzzled by the absence of the MBTA or at least a representative of the State's administration to assist their tenants in this petition. Is it not the norm for the landlord to be a part of the petition for their tenants? Not only that, but some of the gating factors seems to also be in the hands of the state like access to the highway and DCR lands (for access to the River) and the MBTA tracks (for access to the other business park). I do not understand the state's reluctance to engage in discussion on these issues. I realize that the State is among our colleagues in government, but we should hold ourselves to the same standards that we hold our citizens and business partners. A development of this size needs to have more direct access to the highway. Previous agreement was that there would be access to the other business park as well. If it is so cost prohibitive, what is the cost? At what point is it cost prohibitive? Thank you. Your Colleague, Greer
