When you visit, you are standing on land of this country’s Native people, who have lived in this region for more than 12,000 years. One of the descendant tribes is the Massachusett (Massachuseuk).
Historic Newton's museums are open Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are also open by appointment for individuals and groups, including schools, 617-796-1450.
The Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed on Sundays. The Jackson Homestead is open on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed on Saturdays.
Admission is free for everyone on the first weekend of each month.
We are closed on the following dates for holidays: July 4, November 11, December 24 and 25, January 1.
Historic Newton participates in the Mass Cultural Council's Card to Culture program by extending discounts to EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare cardholders on admission to the Jackson Homestead and the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds.
