The City Clerk is the official keeper of records for the City of Newton. Records kept by the Office of the City Clerk include, but not limited to, Vital Statistics (birth, marriage and death certificates), Burial Permits, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings, Business Certificates (DBA’s), Newton City Council records, including decisions of the Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Board and filings from City Boards and Commissions. The City Clerk is the Chief Elections Official for the City of Newton and is responsible for the Annual Census and oversees City Archives.

Oath of Office for Notaries
The City Clerk's office offers the service for notaries to take their oath of office with two Commissioners to Qualify. We offer this service at the below times:
