The next selection of the History Book Club of Historic Newton is Race and Reunion: The Civil War in American Memory by David W. Blight. Winner of the 2002 Bancroft Prize and the Frederick Douglass Book Prize in 2001, Blight's book explores how the past is connected to the present by looking at ways in which Americans have remembered the Civil War. Read the book in advance and join the meeting on Zoom, which is free and open to all. To be added to the mailing list for the Book Club, email social@historicnewton.org.
