CITY OF NEWTON'S
ARPA INVESTMENTS

With the help of $63.5 million in unprecedented one-time federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the City of Newton is strategically seeding those initiatives that will help our City not just stabilize and recover, but permanently be more resilient, more livable, more vibrant, more inclusive, and more sustainable.  We are investing these funds with the lens of equity, ensuring all geographic areas of Newton, all ages, all ethnicities and all people are supported while we help those hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Through community meetings and listening sessions, open office hours, calls, emails and letters, our City Councilors, School Committee members, community groups, residents and business owners have weighed in to help guide our investments.

Community Input

Shortly after we learned of the funding we would receive from ARPA, we created the ARPAinput@newtonma.gov email address to gather input, and you delivered.  We received hundreds of emails along the way, with so many good suggestions for how we could make our good city even better.  The ideas you sent us guided our funding decisions and enriched our imagination on what this City could be.  Thank you!
