Airport is big twang, singable, sweet, hooky, jangly, old school 70s-inspired rock. It's a K-tel record collection or an AM radio station. A Crowded House/Tom Petty/Teenage Fanclub/Squeeze mashup. Chiming chords, sugary melodies, and stacked harmonies driving down the highway with hand-cranked windows rolled down. Coffee-drinking, whiskey-drinking, melodic, sing-along, "remember when?" memory-jolting, Americana yacht rock.
The Boston Globe's Jed Gottlieb says "Airport’s a bar band Beach Boys, a college rock Steely Dan, the Band with polish." And Vanyaland's Michael Marotta says Airport hits "a sweet spot of ’70s-kissed blues rock and prog-pop, and wouldn’t sound out of place on a summer playlist alongside 'Eye In The Sky' or 'Layla.'"
