COVID-19 Dashboard

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health COVID-19 Dashboard includes data on: city/town specific metrics; confirmed and probable cases; testing; demographic data; hospitalizations, deaths, and more. The dashboard is updated every Thursday by 5 p.m. with data from the last two (2) weeks.

Vaccination Data

The weekly data set includes information on individuals vaccinated for COVID-19 by their zip code and city or town of residence. The data includes age, sex and race/ethnicity characteristics of vaccinated individuals. On the page, select "Weekly COVID-19 Municipality Vaccination Data Report"

Wastewater Report

Wastewater surveillance is used to monitor the amount of COVID-19 in an area. In Massachusetts, the Department of Public Health collects data from Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs). The dashboard is updated every Thursday by 5 p.m. Newton is covered by the MWRA Northern & MWRA Southern sampling locations.

All data is preliminary.

Confirmed Cases: Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 via PCR lab results who live in Newton.

Deaths: Newton residents confirmed to have COVID-19 who have died.

Incidence Rate*: The average daily rate per 100,000 people during the prior two-week period.

Positivity Rate*: The percentage of positive PCR COVID-19 test results among all tests conducted.

Vaccination percentage*: Fully vaccinated individuals per capita.

Note: This graph is cases by test date. Previous graphs were cases by symptom onset date when available, or test date if symptom onset date was unavailable. The graph is updated if new information is received about a case. For example, a person initially counted as a Newton resident may actually live elsewhere (and is therefore removed from our case count).
