Support After Traumatic Events
The Riverside Trauma Center and National Association of School Psychologists have helpful resources for making sense of tragedy and taking care of yourself and your family during times of disaster and high stress. Jewish Family & Children's Services offer deep expertise in mental health and trauma-informed care, and a cultural sensitivity to the needs of the Jewish community. If you or people in your life are grappling with sadness, anxiety, and grief, please know that you can reach out to JF&CS Mental Health Connect by calling 781-693-5562 or by writing to mentalhealth@jfcsboston.org. Jewish Family & Children's Services offer free and confidential advice, referrals to therapists (including Hebrew-speaking), support groups, and other resources for addressing mental health concerns.
Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line
If you are struggling with mental health or substance use, the new Behavior Health Help Line (BHHL) connects Massachusetts residents directly to clinical support, where and when they need it. It’s free, available 24/7, and offers real-time interpretation in over 200 languages. Individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing can also use the BHHL by contacting MassRelay at 711.
