Program Overview
The City of Newton's Youth & Young Adult Services Division facilitates a Summer Internship Program for Newton youth aged 16-18.
The Internship Program provides a hands-on learning experience that pairs real world job experiences, with career competency and post-secondary skill building workshops.
With the assistance of MassHire Metro South/West and the YouthConnections program, the City of Newton is able to offer participants an hourly wage, making this a true employment experience.
The Newton YouthWorks Summer Internship Program includes a June participant orientation as well as 6-8 weeks of part-time paid employment. Participants will receive 15-20 hours of on-the-job experience per week in addition to 1-3 hours of career competency training each week.
