Parking Lot MapDownload Data:

These two layers showing the extent of the City’s parking lots and parking lines. Parking lines were also added for other areas including village centers and institutions that have made this data available to the city. Large private lots have also been added in support of various projects. For information about specific spaces such as regulations and meters see the Parking Spaces layer.

Creation, History and Update Process

Parking lot locations were originally provided by the Newton Police Traffic. Other lots were added as needed. Parking lines were mostly drawn from aerial photography but in a few areas such as Boston College and Newton North High School they were imported from CAD drawings.
