City of Newton Human Rights Commission
The City of Newton established the Newton Human Rights Commission in 1973 to ensure mutual understanding and respect among all persons in the City by promoting acceptance of diversity and combating discrimination. The Commission members come from all walks of life and are volunteers who live or work in Newton. HRC meetings are open to the public and a schedule of upcoming meeting dates can be found here.

Newton's Annual LGBTQ+ Pride Event
In early June, Mayor Ruthanne Fuller and the Newton Human Rights Commission celebrate Pride Month in the City of Newton by raising the Rainbow Flag. Keep an eye on this space for more details.
LGBTQ+ Elder Café at Newton Senior Center
A Monthly LGBTQ Elder Café is held at the Newton Senior Center. Check here for updates.
Boston LGBTQ+ Pride Parade
Visit www.bostonpride.org for updates. Many Newtonians enjoy marching together each year.
