Haunted House at the HYDE: Sunday, October 28, 2018
Halloween Party 5:00 to 6:00. Children under 8 with an adult, fun and games. Parade of Horribles around the Highlands at 6:00.

Mayoral Meet-Up: October 4, 2018
Mayor Fuller is coming to Newton Highlands to hear from members of the community. Bring your questions and concerns and talk in a group setting with the Mayor. The Meet-Up will be from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Brigham House, 20 Hartford Street and is immediately followed by a Newton Highlands Neighborhood Area Council meeting focused on enhancing the village center
Levingston Cove Community Meeting
The Parks and Recreation department held a community meeting on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 presenting options for renovating Levingston Cove. The meeting was held at 7 PM in Drucker Auditorium of the Library, 330 Homer Street. The letter announcing the meeting is here and the three proposed designs are here.
MBTA Highlands T Station Meetings
The MBTA held a public meeting to present the 75% design of the new Highlands Station on November 15th at the Women's Club, 72 Columbus Street. The slides from the presentation are avaible via our links page. According to the MBTA announcement the project will include a new pedestrian ramp from Hyde Street to the Inbound Platform. All ramps will be reconstructed to comply with Massachusetts Architectural Access Board (MAAB) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and covered with steel canopies. The station platforms will be raised by approximately 8-inches. The project also includes, new lighting on platforms and ramps, a new covered bike rack, benches and trash receptacles.
The MBTA held a meeting to present the 30% design for improvements to the Highlands T station, including making the station ADA compliant, on April 30, 2018 at 6 PM at the Women's Club, 72 Columbus. Zoning Discussion
There will be a meeting to discuss the Newton Pattern Book on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm at the Brigham House.
As you know, the city plans to use the “Pattern Book” as the basis for making decisions about updating the zoning ordinance and community input is crucial to the process. Hope you can attend.
The Pattern Book can be found on the City Website or a paper copy is available at the Newton Free Library.

Soup Social
The Hyde Community Center and the Newton Highlands Area Council are hosting this year's Soup Social on Saturday February 10 at 6:00 PM at the Hyde Community Center, 90 Lincoln Street. This year three local magicians have volunteered to provide table side entertainment. As usual half of the gym will be open for the kids to run around in. Please join us for local soup, fun, and an opportunity to meet your neighbors from around the Highlands.
