What people are saying about this class!
"I actually would like to take an additional ballet lesson weekly if she has anything similar for adults. This is so good and beneficial that I feel that once a week is really not enough."
" This teacher is wonderfully patient with us and I enjoy the music too."
"When I got home from my first ballet class, I was standing in the kitchen and I noticed
how straight and tall I was standing. I wasn't even thinking about it. My body was just
doing it, probably because I had stood so straight and tall for one hour at ballet! "

Eccentric Lengthen and Strengthen classes are based on the Eccentrics fitness method which aims to gently condition and balance every muscle and joint in the body in every class. We use eccentric and concentric muscle contractions, stretching, pandiculation, and techniques for relaxation and conditioning connective tissue to create and maintain a strong, lean, flexible, and resilient body. The movements are drawn from Tai chi, Yoga, Ballet, Pilates, and Physio-therapy. This mindful workout especially focuses on strengthening abdominals, improving posture, alignment, and balance, while learning to relax as we move. Each class is accompanied by an enjoyable, diverse playlist.

Connective tissue (fascia) is a gel fluid and strong fibers that surround every muscle, joint, vessel, bone and organ to support, protect, store energy, provide strength, flexibility, and cushioning. Fascia can become dysfunctional (too weak or too tight) from repetitive positions and movements, aging, injuries and surgeries. Dysfunctional fascia can cause poor posture, muscle imbalances, compensation, misaligned joints stiffness, weakness and pain.
However, connective tissue has the remarkable ability to be restored and maintained. This class offers techniques (using balls and a soft roller) that trigger the relaxation response and improve connective tissue function at the same time.
Appropriate for most fitness levels.
- Release stress - - Relieve pain - - Prevent injury - - Rejuvenate
- Improve flexibility & strength - - Improve athletic performance
- Improve balance & coordination - - Increase body awareness
What people are saying about this class!
"I find that over the year and a half that I have been taking the class just about every week, I have learned a lot…specifically and also generally. I know many of the techniques and routines we learned, have developed an intuitive sense of how to address certain areas, and have been using the roller and balls more frequently. So, thanks for your passion, as you called it, to learn all you can about the body and how to treat it naturally, and for passing that on." Jane A.
