Collage of Paved Paths

One of the priorities of the Newton Housing and Community Development Division is the removal of architectural barriers and the improved access and mobility for the elderly and people with disabilities in public buildings and spaces. The Division actively collaborates and coordinates with the Commission on Disability on the allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for potential access projects.

In addition, many neighborhood improvement projects, completed through the City's eligible neighborhoods, also include accessibility components.
