Afternoon/Evening Events

Thursday, July 4, 1:00pm – 10:00pm – Albemarle Field/Halloran Sports Complex

The fun continues with a carnival featuring kiddie amusement rides by Cushing Amusements, local business vendor booths, and a handmade craft fair.  At 2pm gather at the gazebo to enjoy the music of Newton's own community ukulele ensemble The City Hall Strummers, and stick around for the Bay Colony Brass at 3pm.  There will be plenty of tables for enjoying refreshments from a variety of food trucks parked around the grounds.

Newton’s own Kat Chapman and her band-mate and co-producer Chris Leadbetter fire up the main stage at 5:30pm. Come early to save your space in the field.  At 7pm things really kick up with the headliner band East Coast Soul bringing the crowd to their feet dancing and singing till dark.  Try out the delicious food from the many food trucks and enjoy the open space under the stars.  At 9:10 pm settle in for the grand finale…a fantastic fireworks display!

While most of the events are free on the 4th, there is a charge for food trucks and the carnival.  A portion of these sales are sent back to the community in the form of free programs and events. Thank you for your support.

There are sponsorship opportunities still available to help support this wonderful community celebration.  Contact us today to discuss ways you can help! Support Culture in Newton
