Goals:
To work towards the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of 15 of Newton's already documented historic municipal properties by hiring consultants to complete individual building envelope studies. The goal of this project is to develop a strategic plan for future capital investments and energy efficient improvements by the City which will protect and preserve these assets.

Funding Process
September 24, 2021 - Pre-Proposal submitted to the CPC for review. Pre-proposal includes a draft RFP for the project and a copy of the maintenance budget for the included properties.
October 12, 2021 - Anticipated Pre-Proposal review at monthly CPC meeting.

In 2011-2012, the City received CPA funding to complete the Newton Public Buildings Survey, a two phase assessment of the Historic Significance of the City's Buildings. All City buildings were briefly discussed in the Phase I report and individual Analyses of Historical Significance were completed for the more significant properties.
