Location:
Begins in Auburndale on Evergreen Ave., runs under I-90 (Mass Pike) downhill
to Riverside Rd. and the Lasell Boathouse Bridge that crosses the Charles River to the DCR trail in the MWRA site in Weston.
Goals:
The Riverside Greenway Working Group proposes to complete the 100% design of one of the Pigeon Hill Trail, one of three key Riverside Greenway links in Auburndale running along the Charles River which connects the village to Riverside and Newton Lower Falls. The project will advance the 25% design already underway to 100% design "shovel ready" status for future construction.

$52,000 DCR Recreational Trails Grant
$100,000 Mass Trails Grant
$10,000 Solomon Foundation Grant
$212,000 TOTAL PROJECT COST

Funding Process
May 23, 2019 - Pre-Proposal submitted for CPC Review
September 11, 2020 - Full Proposal submitted for review by the CPC at their October 10, 2019 Meeting. The separate Attachment document includes:
- Overview and aerial view maps of the project area
- Existing Photos of Project Location
- Photo renderings of the proposed pathway
- Information on the Properties Associated with the Riverside Greenway-Auburndale Links, including abutters information.
October 10, 2019 - Riverside Greenway Working Group Presentation on the project during the proposal's public hearing. The CPC unanimously votes to recommend the project for funding.
October 31, 2019 - CPC Recommendation sent to the City Council for review and approval.
December 16, 2019 - City Council Order approves full funding of the project as recommended.
June 4, 2020 - Riverside Greenway Working Group Interim Project Report submitted to CPC for review at their June 9 monthly meeting.
