Historic Newton is a public-private partnership between a City department (the Jackson Homestead/ Newton History Museum) and a private nonprofit organization (the Newton Historical Society).
Note: The Jackson Homestead is owned by the City of Newton. Funds for work on the building must be appropriated to the control of the Public Buildings Department.

Total CPA funds spent for all projects below (Museum Exterior and Museum Archives), as of August 2021 is $1,296,874.48.
This funding total reflects only the work completed at the Jackson Homestead. Other projects directed by Historic Newton include the following and are documented on separate pages:
- Durant-Kenrick Homestead (privately owned by the Newton Historical Society)
- Historic Burying Grounds (City-owned, maintained by Parks & Recreation Dept.)
